One wrapper, one auction: display and video together
Most publishers run display and video ad units on the same page. This page has a single Prebid.js wrapper and a single pbjs.requestBids call for all five ad units below. bid9 is added as one bidder with only a placementId per ad unit; the media type of each ad unit decides whether bid9 sends imp.banner, imp.video or both.
| Ad unit | Media types | Bidders | Winner |
|---|
The next slot is an outstream video player. Its ad unit asks for mediaTypes.video with plcmt: 4, and the winning VAST is played by the renderer set on the ad unit. It plays muted when half visible and collapses when it finishes.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Integer posuere erat a ante venenatis dapibus posuere velit aliquet. Cras mattis consectetur purus sit amet fermentum. Donec ullamcorper nulla non metus auctor fringilla.
The last slot is a multi-format ad unit: it accepts a 300x250 banner or an outstream video. bid9 sends one impression with both banner and video objects and a floor for each format. The response's mtype tells Prebid which format won: a banner is rendered in an iframe, a video goes to the renderer set under mediaTypes.video. Try ?hybrid=banner to see the same ad unit filled with a banner.
